Jill Asrael joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2011 as a Principal. She serves as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer and as a Wealth Advisor. Since 2001, she has been the CFO of Grapevine Partners, a single family office and now a BCA client, where she has managed all of the family’s financial interests including investment managers, tax professionals, insurance professionals and estate planning attorneys. In addition, she managed an operating company and a charitable supporting organization for the family. Jill also serves as the CFO for Peachtree II, L.P., an SBIC mezzanine debt fund in Atlanta.
Jill’s prior experience includes two years in the Corporate Turnaround group at Arthur Andersen performing financial analysis and cash flow forecasting and working with management to implement new policies and procedures to improve operations. Jill also worked for five years at Larson-Juhl, Inc. where she was responsible for budgeting and forecasting as well as financial statement preparation and treasury functions.
Jill graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis and has been a licensed CPA since 1998.
Justin Berman founded Berman Capital Advisors in 2010 as part of his commitment to provide truly objective family office services, wealth management, and investment consulting services to a select group of high-net-worth families.
Prior to launching BCA, Justin was a Vice-President in the Private Wealth Management division of Goldman Sachs & Co., where he was a member of the firm’s Leadership Council. He has also served in the Investment Advisory Group at myCFO, Inc. and in the Private Client Group at Arthur Andersen & Co.
Justin is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Georgetown University where he served as Varsity Tennis Captain and was a Rhodes Scholar Finalist. He also holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania where he was named a Palmer Scholar.
Justin is active in community affairs and is on the board of trustees of The McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, Leadership Atlanta, Junior Achievement of Georgia, Grady Health Foundation, and the Jewish Education of Greater Atlanta. Justin is also involved in the Young Presidents’ Organization. He and his wife, Mara, reside in Atlanta and have three children.
Kelly Downs joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2011 as a Wealth Advisor. Before coming to BCA, she worked in the Private Wealth Management division of Goldman Sachs & Co. where she specialized in operations and client service for the firm's high-net-worth and family office clients.
Prior to her time at Goldman Sachs, Kelly spent nine years at Fisher Investments, a California-based Registered Investment Adviser that works with private clients and large institutions. While at Fisher Investments, she served as Group Manager for eight years overseeing various functions such as client operations, recruiting, client reporting and trading.
Kelly graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. Kelly obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2013 after completing the required coursework at UGA’s Terry College of Business.
Serina joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2016. Prior to joining Berman, she worked for Forge Consulting LLC, a settlement planning firm in Atlanta that provided insurance, trust and wealth management services for injured plaintiffs and their families. Serina was responsible for implementing suitable financial plans. She provided support to the sales consultants, registered investment advisors and trust officers by administering initial and ongoing support to an extensive book of clients.
Serina graduated from Binghamton University in upstate New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She was Vice President of Phi Alpha Delta, a national professional pre-law fraternity. Serina is a licensed insurance agent in the state of Georgia. She obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2018 after completing the required coursework at UGA’s Terry College of Business. In her spare time, she volunteers at the International Rescue Committee, helping newly settled refugees acclimate to Atlanta.
Parker Mitchell joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2016 as a Wealth Advisor. Before joining BCA, he worked as an Investment Director at Cambridge Associates where he provided investment advice to private and institutional investors including ultra-high net worth private clients, family offices, foundations, and university endowments.
Parker’s prior experience includes two years as a Relationship Manager with Crawford Investment Counsel working with clients invested in Crawford’s municipal bond strategy and six years at Charles Schwab in various roles including three years as a Vice President-Financial Consultant.
Parker graduated from the Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech with an MBA concentrated in Finance. He obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ designation in 2009 and became a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder in 2015. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Mary Washington College.
Wen Nottebohm joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2014 as a Wealth Advisor. Before joining BCA, she worked as a Client Strategies and Portfolio Solutions Analyst at AQR Capital Management where she created custom portfolio analysis for Private Wealth Advisors and Registered Investment Advisors.
Wen’s prior experience includes two years in the Private Wealth Management division at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. At MSSB, she specialized in risk and discretionary account management for the firm’s ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Wen graduated from MIT with Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Management Science. She was the Class Treasurer for four years and currently sits on the Alumni Class Council. She also holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Whitney Warmack joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2019 as a Wealth Advisor. Most recently, Whitney worked as a Client Relationship Manager at Stifel where she focused on building and maintaining relationships with high net worth clients. She worked closely with clients to develop and implement customized asset allocations. She began her career in the investment management industry in 2007 and has worked in the Private Wealth Management Division of Barclays and Goldman Sachs.
Whitney earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Emory University and obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2010 after completing the required coursework at Emory University. Whitney and her husband, Josh, live in the Grant Park neighborhood of Atlanta with their two children. In her spare time, Whitney enjoys attending Atlanta United matches.
Savannah Andersen joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2018 as a Client Service Associate. Prior to joining Berman, Savannah was a member of Deloitte Consulting’s Organizational Transformation team. There, she helped clients across multiple industries implement business process reengineering, project management, and training development and delivery solutions. Following her time at Deloitte, Savannah also worked at an Atlanta-based technology startup focused on improving consumer health and food safety.
Savannah graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance.
Cameron Braig joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2019. Prior to joining Berman, Cameron worked for eVestment, an institutional investment database and analytics firm in Atlanta that aids the institutional investors to better select and monitor investment managers and enables asset managers to market their funds worldwide. He helped private market firms develop firm performance analytics and discover market intelligence such as new mandates, fee analysis and consultant strategy recommendations.
Cameron went to the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. While at the University of Dayton Cameron worked for the Men’s basketball program assisting with video and scouting efforts. In his spare time, Cameron coaches a local Atlanta AAU team.
Jeanne Leon joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2017 as an Onboarding Specialist. Before coming to BCA, she was an Account Specialist - Analyst at Deutsche Bank on the Fund Administration Services team in New York.
Prior to her time at Deutsche Bank, Jeanne was a Jr. Client Relationship Manager at Inverness Counsel, a New York based Registered Investment Advisor, for about 6 years where she handled the daily needs for multiple high net worth family accounts.
Jeanne earned her Bachelor of Business Administration - Finance degree from Baruch College - Zicklin School of Business in 2012.
Eleanor Littlefield joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2018 as an Operations Associate. Before joining BCA, she was the Director of Investor Relations at a commercial real estate private equity firm in Atlanta.
Prior to this role, Eleanor gained several years of experience leading investor relations efforts for various private alternative investment vehicles, including multi-strategy hedge funds and fund of funds with Mitsubishi UFJ Fund Services and Meridian Fund Services in New York City. Eleanor was also a key contributor to various operational and compliance related projects.
Eleanor graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising/Public Relations, and a minor in English Literature.
Chad NeSmith joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2018 as a Client Service Associate. Prior to joining Berman, Chad worked as a Paraplanner for a registered investment advisor in the Atlanta area. Chad was responsible for preparing financial plans, trading client accounts, and managing workflow into and out of client meetings.
Chad graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Economics. He obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2013 and became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder in 2017. Chad is a member of the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.
Lacey Turner joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2018 as a Client Service Associate. Prior to joining Berman, Lacey worked as an Associate on the client services team at a registered investment advisor in the Atlanta area. Lacey was responsible for opening and maintaining client accounts, managing client requests, planning firm events, and working on various projects within the marketing team.
Lacey graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing and a minor in Hospitality and Communications. She obtained her Registered Investment Advisor Representative designation in 2017 after successfully completing the Series 65 exam.
Ginny Adcock joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2016 as an Executive Assistant. Before joining BCA, she worked in the Private Wealth Management division at Morgan Stanley as the Branch Manager’s Assistant for the Southeast Region. At Morgan Stanley, her focus was on providing support to the Management Team as well as exceptional back office administration. Prior to joining the wealth management industry, Ginny worked at Time Warner Cable as an Administrative Assistant for the Regional Manager of Accounts Payable. Ginny graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
Shae Amerson joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2012. Before joining BCA, she was Vice President of Trading and Operations for Aurora Investment Counsel. At Aurora she was responsible for all trading, operations and reporting for several RIA firm's high-net-worth clients.
Prior to her five years at Aurora Investment Counsel, Shae worked as a trader for Personal Asset Management, a division of SunTrust, where she conducted trading, research and also advised on investment recommendations to portfolio managers and clients.
Shae graduated from Clayton College and State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Marketing. At CCSU, Shae was captain of the women's basketball team and is a record holder.
Stephanie Effron joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2014 as the Office Manager. Before joining BCA, she spent nine years as a Family Office Coordinator for 3 high net worth families in the Atlanta area where she was responsible for providing day to day family office professional functions. She served as the primary liaison between the family groups and their various financial and legal advisors.
Prior to her time working with these families, Stephanie spent 12+ years in public accounting, working for several mid-size firms in Atlanta and one in Chicago. She spent 5 of those years as a tax manager where she was focused in a tax advisory role and managed the preparation and review of complex personal and corporate tax returns. Over the course of her 20 year accounting career, she has also gained extensive experience working with small businesses in a variety of industries performing bookkeeping and other financial functions.
Stephanie graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Management and a concentration in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Georgia.
Heather joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2018 as Manager, Investment Reporting. Before joining BCA, Heather worked as an Investment Analyst for a variety of organizations including Teachers Retirement System of Georgia, Emory Investment Management and Invesco and most recently worked as a Finance Manager for a company specializing in providing disaster support services. Heather graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Management with concentrations in Accounting & Finance. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
John Sheffield joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2017 as an Investment Reporting Analyst. Before joining BCA, he worked as a Business Analyst with M&G Contractors where he focused on purchasing and reporting. Prior to M&G, John interned for UBS Financial Services in their Wealth Management division.
John graduated from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
Russ Allen is Berman Capital Advisors Chief Investment Officer. Previously, Russ was Balentine’s Director of Investment Research and a member of the firm’s Investment Strategy Team. He was responsible for running the research team’s efforts in strategic and tactical asset allocation and manager selection and implementation.
Previously, Russ was Senior Equity Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager at Globalt Investments, managing assets on behalf of both institutions and high net worth individuals. Russ also served on Globalt’s Investment Policy Team, specializing in quantitative tactical asset allocation and fundamental stock selection. Earlier in his career, Russ worked with the National Security Agency as an intelligence analyst tracking terrorist group financing. He has also worked with the United States Treasury Department in the foreign exchange area and as strategy consultant for the Mitchell Madison Group.
Russ is a graduate of Wake Forest University where he studied Middle Eastern History and minored in Political Science. He holds Master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins University in International Economics and Latin American Studies and from the University of California, San Diego specializing in International Security. Russ holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts.
Eli Niepoky joined Berman Capital in 2018 and is Vice President, Investments. Most recently, Eli was an independent consultant working with a large single-family office and an institutional equity firm. Previously, she was the Chief Investment Officer at Diversified Trust Company, a comprehensive wealth management firm with offices across the southeast. At Diversified Trust, Eli and her team were responsible for developing the firm’s strategic and tactical asset allocations, portfolio structuring and implementation, investment manager selection, and firmwide investment communication. Eli started her investment career at the Delta Air Lines pension fund where she was a Director, responsible for the fund’s Fixed Income and Real Estate investments.
Eli is a graduate of Wake Forest University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She also received her MBA from Georgia State University in their evening MBA program. Eli is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). She currently serves on the Strategic Advisory Committee (SAC) for the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals (ASFIP) and is past President, Board Member, and CFA Review Course Instructor.
Eli is the Vice Chair and a Board of Trustee member for the Employee Retirement System of Georgia. She serves on the Investment Committee for the Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School endowment as well as the Finance Committee and Board of the Georgia Council on Economic Education (GCEE).
Lauren West joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2014 as an Investment Analyst. Before joining BCA, she spent two years on the Institutional Client Service Team with Russell Investments in New York City, focusing on clients' strategic asset allocation and investment review.
Prior to her time at Russell Investments, Lauren spent three years on the corporate finance team at The Home Depot. She was responsible for managing HD's short-term investment portfolio, hedging foreign exchange exposures, and providing support and analysis on capital structure transactions. Lauren also spent over two years as a Performance Analyst for LCG Associates, an Institutional Investment Consulting firm in Atlanta.
Lauren graduated with highest honors from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts.
Robert Woessner joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2016 as an Investment Analyst. Before joining BCA, he spent three and a half years on the Investment Team with Balentine LLC in Atlanta, focusing on investment recommendations for client portfolio’s and proprietary model creation and maintenance.
Prior to his time at Balentine LLC, Robert spent three years as a Senior Accountant/Market Analyst at GenOn (formerly Mirant Energy) where he was responsible for reconciling derivative and power generation contracts with financial counterparties.
Robert is a former Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps and received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal during his deployment in Falluja, Iraq.
Robert graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. He holds Master’s degrees from Georgia State University in Finance and from Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in Statistics. Robert holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), the Financial Risk Management (FRM) and the Certificate in Quantitative Finance designation’s and is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts and the Atlanta chapter of the CAIA Association.
David Fisher joined Berman Capital Advisors in 2018 as the firm’s Executive Chairman having previously been a member of the firm’s Advisory Board. In this newly created role, David will focus on Berman Capitals continued growth and the opportunity to leverage all that has been accomplished since the firms inception in 2010. David places an emphasis on people and talent, and will enhance our current team, with a commitment that the Berman culture and team be ‘best in class’! This will ensure our clients and the firm, are best positioned to meet their goals and objectives.
Prior to joining Berman, David served in several C-suite roles in family/closely held businesses. In packaging, chemicals, fulfillment, and even summer camping! In the non-profit sector, from2012-2016 David was the President and CEO of the Birthright Israel Foundation. David does consulting work through Coalesce Advisors and has been active venture and private equity investor for the past twenty years.
David is a 1987 graduate of Indiana University, with a BA in Political Science. Throughout his career, David has served many local and national organizations as a leader, board member, and contributor. David participated in Leadership Cincinnati Class XXII and was recognized as a Cincinnati ’40 Under 40’, by the Cincinnati Business Courier. David previously was a member of Young Presidents Organization and continues to be a member of the Defining Moments Society. David and his wife Stacey now live in Atlanta and have four children.
